ALL Hotel Owners & Operators — Your Input Is Needed
The City of Los Angeles is conducting a survey to collect direct feedback from ALL hotel owners and operators on the current business and investment climate in Los Angeles.
The City is seeking input on:
- How City policies are impacting hotel operations
- Whether the investment climate feels supportive or hostile
- Key pressures hotels are facing (labor costs, regulations, operating expenses, occupancy, etc.)
- The potential impact of proposed changes to the Hotel Worker Minimum Wage Ordinance (HWMO) and related policies
This survey is part of the City’s broader review of hotel sector economics, including the BEAR study commissioned by the Office of the Chief Legislative Analyst (CLA).
Why This Matters
BEAR is conducting the City’s official economic analysis of proposed changes to the Living Wage Ordinance and the Hotel Worker Minimum Wage Ordinance, including:
- Wage and labor cost impacts
- Operational impacts on hotels
- Citywide economic effects
- Possible alternative wage schedules
Survey responses will be shared directly with BEAR to ensure real-world hotel operator feedback is reflected in their analysis.
This is especially important because industry groups previously criticized BEAR’s initial report for lacking sufficient direct input from hotel owners. This survey is intended to help address that gap.
